Why can't I buy the domain outright?

Domains are leased for 1–10 years, everywhere in the world. As long as you renew on time, nobody else can take it.

What if I forget to renew?

We send reminders 30, 14 and 3 days before. After expiry there is a grace period in which you can recover it, but with an extra fee imposed by the registry.

Can I move a domain I already own?

Yes. You need the authorisation code from your current provider. A transfer adds a year to the existing period, so you don't lose time you already paid for.

Do I need to understand nameservers?

No. If the domain and the hosting are both with us, we configure them automatically. If the domain is elsewhere, we give you exactly the two values to copy.
